2 Year Old Programmes

2 – 3 Year-Old Programme are designed specifically for pre-preschool children and operate during term time. They focus on providing playful, interactive experiences that promote early learning and development. Each initiative offers children, and their families access to high-quality play opportunities, which are essential for nurturing key skills. Research has shown that engaging in play-based learning can significantly enhance cognitive, social, and emotional development, setting a strong foundation for their educational journey. By participating in these unique programmes, families can ensure that their children experience enriching environments that support their growth, learning, development and transition to preschool.

The early years team work in partnership with parents and children offering the opportunity to access high quality provisions preparing them for pre-school. There is an annual intake process, applications can only be accepted when the child’s date of birth falls within that intake year.

Lisburn Sure Start understands that, for some children, navigating a larger group setting can pose challenges or may simply feel overwhelming at this stage in their development. That's why Little Rainbows offers a nurturing, intimate environment, nestled within the sensory hub, specifically designed for children who may benefit from a bit more support. In this welcoming space, both parents and children engage in personalised sessions tailored to their unique needs. Additionally, home support visits are provided to foster growth in cognitive, social, and emotional skills. This comprehensive approach prepares children for a seamless transition into independent play-based learning with the early years team and speech and language therapist, ensuring they are equipped and confident to thrive in a group setting.
