Antenatal and Postnatal Programmes

Our baby and toddler swim programme is a wonderful opportunity to bond and have fun with your little one whilst enjoying the relaxation and warmth of the water. There are many benefits to introducing your baby/toddler to swimming such as strengthening muscles, developing confidence, exploring balance, movement and spatial awareness, and much more. Holding your baby/toddler close within the water promotes lots of skin to skin contact which allows your little one to feel your heartbeat, hear your breathing and smell you which all helps to soothe and relax them. This also promotes the feeling of safety and security, creating the perfect place to connect and offer comfort and calmness. Did you know that the warmth of the water stimulates their nervous system, reminding babies of the safety and security of the womb? Toddlers also love to explore the water through splashing their hands, kicking their feet, and blowing bubbles. This builds their confidence and gets their heart rate pumping faster which is an excellent form of exercise whilst having fun.

Our Breastfeeding Champion runs this group. It supports Parents with their Breastfeeding journey, as well as providing resources and play opportunities for the children. We provide a breast pump lending service with high quality breast pumps. Antenatal parents are also welcome to join our breastfeeding group.
