Valuable insights are shared on feeding practices and strategies for promoting positive mental health, ensuring that both parents and their little ones thrive.
A series of four informative sessions designed for expecting parents. These gatherings will create a relaxed atmosphere where you can learn about maintaining a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy and find out what to expect during and after this exciting journey. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to connect and build relationships with other expectant parents.
Designed for expecting mothers and those with infants up to one year old. This group promotes social interaction. It offers age-appropriate activities and provides a platform for sharing valuable information related to the various phases of parenting during this early stage of a child's life.
Lisburn Sure Start has achieved Baby Friendly Accreditation from UNICEF, demonstrating its commitment to supporting child health. The knowledgeable child health team provide both individual and group assistance tailored to breastfeeding needs. Both knowledge and tools are available with a breastfeeding pump loan service available.
The Breastfeeding Group at Lisburn Sure Start serves as a supportive space for mothers, including those from beyond the catchment area, to exchange experiences and obtain valuable information, while creating opportunities for age-appropriate play.
This 6-week baby sensory program is designed to promote brain development and communication skills by creating a rich and stimulating sensory environment. The programme incorporates interactive activities that engage the babies’ senses. The child health team employs a nurturing approach to support your baby's individual needs, offering weekly tips and insights to help foster optimal brain growth.
Offers an opportunity to bond with your little one while enjoying the warmth and relaxation of the water. Introducing your baby to swimming has numerous benefits, including strengthening their muscles, building confidence, and helping them explore balance, movement, and spatial awareness. Holding your baby close in the water promotes skin-to-skin contact, which allows them to feel your heartbeat, hear your breathing, and smell you.
Transitioning to solid food marks a significant milestone in every baby's development. If you're interested in exploring nutritious, flavourful, low-cost options for your baby and learning how to prepare them, we invite you to join this home-delivered course. All participants will receive a special "Introducing Solids" goodie bag.
